Plowden & Smith mounted and installed over 120 objects for the touring exhibition, Tutankhamun and the World of the Pharaohs. The exhibition opened in Vienna in March 2007, and was scheduled to tour across six European and American museums over the course of five years.

The artefacts comprised of objects from Tutankhamun’s tomb and other ancient sites; many of which had never left Egypt.  Our team had the nerve-racking pleasure of mounting items including Gold Funerary Sandals and Finger and Toe coverings found on the mummified body of Tutankhamun, and a 3000kg collosal statue.

The exhibition was organized by National Geographic, Arts and Exhibitions International, AEG Exhibitions and EMS Exhibits Vienna, with cooperation from the Egyptian Supreme Council of Antiquities and Kunsthistorisches Museum.
